Lance B's Ten Hottest MC's

by lanceburns

First off let me say that this is in no way shape or form my 10 favorite rappers or the 10 best rappers. This is as the title states the hottest Mc’s. What makes an artist hot may vary depending on the person because hot is such a general term, but to me it’s a combination of lyrics, song making ability,Buzz, and accomplishments. Now with all that out of the way lets get to the list.

10. Soulja Boy
()!
I know what you’re about to say Soulja Boy he sucks etc…. But he deserves to be on this list. Even with the poor record sales of his second album he still managed to push out hits like Kiss Me Thru The Phone,Booty Got Swag,Gucci Bandana, and Turn My Swag On. He is the face of Young Music love him or you hate him Soulja Boys name is on everyone’s lips in the music industry

9. Young Jeezy

If you could sum up Jeezy’s career in one word it would be consistent. You know what your gonna get trap music Jeezy is one of the few rappers who stays relevant even when he doesn’t have an album on the way his trapping ain’t dead mixtape was dope and his 24-23 smash gave him his number 9 spot.

8. Gucci Mane

Say what you want about him, but you can’t question his work ethic. I mean the man drops a mixtape like every week it seems like, and constantly turns out bangers. Now alot of people don’t like him bc he lacks lyrics but whatever. The songs he makes are dope, go to any club or hood south of Maryland and see how big a influence Gucci mane has on the masses.

7. Lil Wayne

What can I say he’s Weezy. Sure the rebirth keeps getting pushed back, and he’s not as nice lyrically nice as he used to be but at any given time he’ll put the lean down and show you why he is considered by some one of the best in the game today IE Million Dollar Baby. His buzz is still at a high, this is prolly because he’s been pushing this young money label of his and riding off drakes buzz, but love him or hate him whenever a new Wayne track hits the net people will listen.

6. Joe Budden

The biggest rapper on the net without question. He finally droped the padded room dope and the escape route tape was some of his best work yet in my opinion, just listen to the intro and We Outta Here the whole thing is dope tho. He’s also 1 fourth of arguably the most lyrically talented rap group assembled have you heard the album it’s a lyric lovers wet dream. Add all that up with Joe Budden T.V. that whole Wu Tang altercation Budden takes the 6th spot

5. T.I.

King of the South need I say more. T.I. came back to reclaim his throne with the release of paper trail a dope album. Which produced the hits Whats Up Live Your Life Whatever You like the super collab Swagger Like Us. His little beef with Shawty lo, and well publicized court case helped his buzz. Even in Jail Tip continues to stay relevant his mixtape A Year And A Day was crazy including hits like Hell Of A Life, and Remember Me feat Mary J topped the itunes charts and made it on the Billboard top 20 if I’m not mistaken.

4. Kanye West

His finally getting the best of his mentor on Run this town, I feel like was a milestone in his career. between that and other guest appearances such as Kinda Like A Big Deal which he murdered the Clipse, and his appearance on the super collaboration Forever plus his tour. His Buzz just doesn’t go anywhere. Plus his rapping just gets better and better that’s why Ye is number 4.

3. Drake

He has a song with Jay-Z and Eminem and he hasn’t even dropped an album yet. If that’s not hot I don’t know what is. The Forever song is hailed as arguably collab of the year. Plus on this track he held his own with some of the best in the industry he went on a nation wide tour off a mixtape, plus his hits Best I ever Had and Successful this is why Drake is number 3.

2. Jay Z

God MC it’s Hova He smashed Summer Jam, started a movement that all but killed the auto tune trend, released the smash single Run This Town and he has one of the most highly anticipated albums of the year. make no mistake about Jay-Z is probably the face of Hip-hop music right now which is why he takes the number 2 spot.

1.Eminem

Remember when I said that Jay was the face of hiphop well that’s only because Eminem doesn’t want to be. He’s the only white boy in the world who can make a diss record aimed at a female, and make a song about getting rapped by his step father and get hailed for both. Relapse was a really dope album and despite no real smash singles or radio play or high promotion it still managed to be the highest selling hiphop album this year. Throw in him murdering on wax some of the best in the industry has to offer this is why Eminem is number 1.

Honorable Mentions
Lupe Fiasco
Lloyd Banks
50 Cent

1 I clearly stated what the list was based on at the top of the blog
2 even if popularity was the case how the fuck is Lil Wayne more popular right now when wayne aint dropped nothing big in the past 2 months but eminem just dropped relaspse which sold stupid records with no real smash lead single n how the hell is wayne gon be more popular than Jay when he’s all over TV promotion the blueprint 3

you lost all credibility when you said Kanye’s rapping keeps on getting better when he dropped two classics for his first two album, a near classic with his third, stopped rapping, started again with very average features on a bunch of people’s songs. VERY AVERAGE. Run This Town only sounded like a hot verse because Jay-Z’s verses were shit. Blueprint 3 is stilll better than i thought it would be though, above average shit. But i agree, lyrics have nothin to do with bein hot. Or talent for that matter. Its all about popularity and what people are listening to i.e. Soulja Boy and Gucci Mane: two of the worst rappers on the plane of all of hip hop, annoying voices, god awful flow, nursery rhyme scheme, no thoughts put on delivery, uncreative, they cover the same damn topics, and don’t let me get started on lyrics. Even so people like them. The only thing they have goin for them is that they can stay on beat, a task that if you can’t accomplish, will make sure you get the point that you aren’t talented at all in the rap department. Lupe isn’t hot in the game btw. He’s fantastically talented, but I don’t hear people rapping/singing Shining Down. Cmon, Em isnt number one on this list either, he fell off everyones radar until Forever, which he got hot again, but people are gonna forget about that soon. He doesnt put out enough material to be considered hot. Talent doesnt equal hotness, get it right.

to be honest, this list is almost correct, soulja boy is the talk of the town, but Eminem??? he might can rap and shit, but nobody fucks with his shit like that no more. Jay-z can rap, but as of right now, I think Drake deserves number 1. Gucci mane deserves number 2 despite his corneyness in lyrics, he has an incredible flow and he is constantly in the studio workin, like hes todays 2pac! Nice list tho, but fuck eminem.

I agree with this blog homie nice work. Even though soulja boy album flopped i think he still has a chance to bounce back and i know he can’t really rap but you got to give the young man credit for making a name for himself in the game and he too didn’t know he was gonna blow.
